Evaluations & Feasibility Studies
We can provide an objective view for evaluations, feasibilities
studies and options appraisals.
For example
Evaluations:
I carried out interim and final evaluations of an international project called Unlocking Our Hidden Heritage, funded by the Leonardo Da Vinci Programme. The project was led by Grampus Heritage and Training in the UK and involved five other European partners.
Each partner delivered a training action that was then incorporated into a case study published in a handbook and on the web; and associated training exercises were developed as a curriculum pack. A key element in the Unlocking Our Hidden Heritage project was the involvement of the local community in the investigation and conservation of its landscape and heritage.
I produced reports evaluating the results of each case study, handbook and curriculum pack. I examined how the work packages had been established and implemented, identified problems and made recommendations.
Feasibility Studies:
I was commissioned by The National Trust to carry out a feasibility study for the future development of their High Wray Basecamp. This is a facility that provides simple accommodation for volunteers carrying out conservation work for the Trust and working on the HLF funded Fix the Fells project. The objectives of the project were to pull together all the existing information relating to the future development of High Wray Basecamp; add any additional information required; work with user groups to ascertain their current and future needs; offer a number of options and, by giving an objective view of the options, draw conclusions and recommendations.
This involved looking at how the facility fulfils National Trust policy, identifying the problems, how and why it could be improved, assessing options and making recommendations.
